When Mark Richards Racing Enterprises opened the doors at Rocket Chassis in 1991, it signaled a revolution in the manufacturing of the late model chassis. Rocket Chassis burst onto the racing scene and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the elite late model chassis manufacturers in the United States. The evolution of that revolution continues today. Rocket Chassis leads the industry in technological advances in chassis design. It's a proven fact - Rocket Chassis produces winning race cars!

Formed in 1986, Mark Richards Racing Enterprises started as a dealer of Bullitt Chassis. In 1991, they began building their own chassis design, which they dubbed "Rocket."

That first year, Rocket Chassis had three employees, Mark Richards, Steve Baker and Scott Purkey, and produced 30 chassis. Today, Rocket Chassis employs 12 people and produces nearly 250 chassis a year. In its first 10 years, Rocket Chassis has produced over 1075 late model chassis.

The first two late model chassis were built at the same time. One went to Mike Balzano and the other was a house car driven by Davey Johnson. Johnson went on to record Rocket Chassis' first victory later that year. That same year, Rick Eckert gave Rocket Chassis their first of many titles when he captured the track points championship at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway.

Steve Francis won the first national title for the chassis manufacturer in 1996 when he snared his first of three straight STARS Championships.

Over the past 10 years, Rocket Chassis have been purchased by drivers from every region of the United States. Rockets can be found in victory lanes across the country and in 2000, Rocket Chassis swept the manufacturer's title in both the Hav-A-Tampa sponsored UDTRA Dirt Racing Series and the Renegade STARS National Dirt Racing League.

Rocket drivers can list victories in the Dirt Track World Championship, Hav-A-Tampa Shootout, World 100, The Dream, Hillbilly 100, Pittsburgher 100, and USA Nationals among their accomplishments. As they move forward into the 21st Century,

Rocket Chassis will continue to set the standards for chassis development and technological advances in the industry. Unite with the personnel at Rocket Chassis in 2006 and beyond as they continue Building Champions in dirt late model racing!
